  • Associazione Nuova Scuola Serena in Rome manages two care homes for the disabled, one situated in the Primavallearea, the other in the Boccea area in Casalotti.
Casa Sergio Ferrazza and Casa dei Girasoli are care homes housing 12 people with different types of disabilities and social care issues.
Our care homes aim to provide residents with a peaceful and productive lifestyle, a comfortable environment, basic care, and a continued commitment to improving their psychophysical, social, and personal conditions.
In view of this ultimate objective, our facilities promote integration in the social context encouraging and valuing independence, abilities, resources, and each resident’s potential.

The facilities operate according to a course of action that is established together with ASL (the national/regional Italian healthcare system), the families, and the actual residents.
In other words, our homes offer a “socio-educational” approach based on ideals, goals, and operating procedures that differ vastly from those of a standard healthcare facility.

Following are some of our major objectives:

    • To offer the best possible conditions in terms of housing/living  and daily activities
    • To promote and value resources, skills, independence, capabilities, and potentials of each person within the home
    • To offer socialization opportunities that promote reintegration in the general social context
    •  To provide job placement where possible
    • To offer a peaceful and stimulating environment
  • Our care homes aim to provide residents with a peaceful and productive lifestyle, a comfortable environment, basic care, and a continued commitment to improving their psychophysical, social, and personal conditions.
